Simulation of Benchmark Problems from NASA TME using Various Turbulence Models in OpenFOAM
Abstract
In Spring 2020 semester and this summer, I learnt the installation and basic usage of VMware Workstation CFD software OpenFOAM. I ran a few benchmark turbulent flow simulation cases from NASA TMR (https://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/) using OpenFOAM, namely the cases of turbulent flow past flat plate, NASA hump and backward facing step. During summer, I also started to run one equation k-kl modeling for flat plate and hump cases. This independent study report provides comparison of my results with the experimental results on NASA TMR website.
