Abstract

This brief addresses how instructional leaders can support teaching and learning toimprove student achievement. nstructional leadership matters for school success. District- andschool-based leaders play a pivotal role in setting policies,allocating and managing resources, and shaping school cultureas both a place of learning for students and a positive workplacefor teachers and staff. The impact instructional leaders, such asprincipals, have is second only to teaching in its capacity toimprove student performance.
