Abstract
I am an artist who engages in world building by drawing on personal narrative as a starting point. The world I choose to occupy is defined by industriousness and a devotion to labor, a deep respect for craft, and the absurdity of spending far too much time making something that could be made more simply. To live in this world is to engage with humor in a constant and consistent way, but always with an open heart, a light demeanor, and a sense that humor is a way to both foster camaraderie and call attention to an issue in an even handed and steady way. For me, art making is just a way of doing a bit, and to do this little bit, to hold on to it and communicate genuine feeling by it, bit by bit by bit, is the foundation of my practice.
