Summary
Students will use the gem/activity through the semester to stay up-to-date on their assigned country desk for a graduate level course on diplomacy.
Extended Summary
This assignment is designed to give students the tools and judgment necessary to maintain awareness of updates and events in their assigned country throughout the course. This skill, of knowing where to find up-to-date, reliable information on a topic of which you aren’t yet expert, is a critical skill in diplomacy and international affairs. A timely understanding of in-country developments will inform and advance both your professional relationships and deliverables. Each week, you will be expected to come prepared to provide a 1-minute brief to your boss, the Deputy Chief of Mission, on what they need to know about in-country developments and their intersection with US interests.
