Abstract
My creative practice is an interruption in the domain of image culture. My practice revolves around the excavation and reconfiguration of images from popular media. Through the use of the fragmentary, my intention is to generate a poetic language that speaks to desire, nostalgia and longing. In creating these sequences, I hope to establish an implied narrative that the viewer can interpret through a free association. The text examines my art in relation to the work and writing of artists such as David Wojnarowicz, Maya Deren, Svetlana Boym, Katrien de Blauwer and Joachim Schmid.
