Abstract
The purpose of this project was to design and manufacture a device to carry an XRF Analyzer to improve ergonomics and the quality of sample taking in fieldwork. Since the analyzer is an x-ray device, extra precautions must be taken to ensure the user is not subjected to harmful rays. This report features a collapsible stroller and portable stand that work in tandem to carry a tote, laptop, and XRF Analyzer. The collapsible stroller was repurposed and modified from a commercial stroller. A wooden laptop stand was attached to the stroller such that the data could be collected remotely. The lid of the tote was cut to provide a holder for the XRF Analyzer. The portable stand both secures the XRF Analyzer and ensures that data collection is consistent with adjustable height. An engineering analysis was conducted for construction materials and design.
