Abstract
BY NOW, the Gunderson Effect has more or less left its mark on large law firms across the country and the greedy associates chat rooms are far less interesting than they used to be. The new salary structure has created a bit of a hubbub both within and outside the profession, causing a great deal of self-examination and perhaps some bitterness. Only time will tell what these NEW SALARIES do to our noble profession. Meanwhile, the accounting firms wait, patiently, in the wings to either absorb us or make us obsolete. It is hardly the time to start breaking down from within when the true threat is that Wal-Mart of professional services called the Multi-Disciplinary Practice Association. Investment Banking Aisle 1; Litigation Aisle 4; Tax Aisle 10?
