Problem Statement

The goal of this project is to yield a near-universal system capable of attaching to rail cars to enable a user to remotely actuate decoupling from a train and returning to coupling mode. This will streamline the decoupling process by no longer requiring a person to walk the length of a train and manually operate the mechanism and place themself in a hazardous situation where injury or death is a real possibility.
