Problem Statement
A railway switch is the mechanism that diverts a train to one of the two tracks at a fork in a railroad. Manually operating a railway switch is a physically demanding job that slows operations. For this project, we were entrusted to develop a prototype that would allow a user to control a rail switch wirelessly through a tablet or control device while still allowing the switch to be operated manually if needed. This document elaborates each step to produce a prototype that reduces the physical strain of railway works and an increases speed of operation.
