Problem Statement

Our project was to optimize the sand filling technique in Eaton Bussmann for their high voltage quick extinguishing fuses. The goal provided was vague as was many of the specifics, allowing us to pick what's that goal meant to us. Our options ranged from determining a better way to fill, tamp, or test the fuses for one or a family of fuses, or to determine the optimum conditions of the fuse based upon research and calculations.
