Getting Around Campus

The following important buildings are circled on the campus map linked here.

Accommodations (Circled in Red)

If you registered for conference housing, the suite-style campus dorms are located in Koenig House (Building 56). Check-in for these accommodations is in Umrath House (Building 115). The Umrath check-in office hours are M-F, 9am to midnight and Sa–Su, noon to midnight. If you arrive outside of these hours, call WashU PD at (314) 935-5555, and they will call someone to check you in. The on-campus hotel is the Knight Center (Building 54). The conference dinner will take place in the Knight Center.

Conference Buildings (Circled in Blue)

IWOTA conference events will take place in Brown Hall (Building 16), Crow Hall (Building 24), and Cupples I Hall (Building 25).

On Campus Dining (Circled in Yellow)

The Danforth University Center or DUC (Building 28) contains a food court (M-F 7:30am-7pm, Sa-Su 11am-7pm) and Cafe Bergson (M-F, 7:30am-3pm, Sa-Sun 9am-1pm). Bauer Hall (Building 8) contains Bauer Cafe (M-F, 8am-2pm) and Starbucks (M-Th, 8am-6pm, Fr 8am-2pm). Simon Hall (Building 105) has an Einstein Bros Bagels (M-F, 8am-1:30pm).

Off Campus Dining (Circled in Purple)

A variety of dining options are located a short walk away on the Loop (Delmar Blvd). The quickest way to the Loop is via the Ackert Walkway.

Metro Stops (Circled in Orange)

The Big Bend metro stop is located at the northwest corner of campus at the intersection of Big Bend Blvd and Forest Park Parkway. The Skinker metro stop is located at the northeast corner of campus at the intersection of Skinker Blvd and Forest Park Parkway.

Getting to St. Louis

The nearest airport is Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL).

Local transportation:

Taxi: About 30 dollars each way to/from airport. Two local cab companies are County Cab (314.991.5300) and Laclede Cab (314.652.3456).

Uber

Metrolink: The Metrolink trains can be used to travel between the airport and campus. There are two metrolink stations near campus (the "Skinker station" is closer to the math department, the "Big Bend station" is closer to the dorms). The dorms are 0.6 miles from the Big Bend station. From the airport, take the (Red) train to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere station, get off and switch to the (Blue) train going in the direction of “Shrewsbury.” Take this train one stop to the Skinker Station (to be close to the math department) or two stops to the Big Bend Station (to be closer to housing). Fare is $4 from the airport.

Airport shuttle discount: Since it is bit of a walk from the Big Bend station to the dorms, some participants may want to take an airport shuttle. We have negotiated a price of $17 each way. To reserve a shuttle at the discounted rate, you must use this link: Shuttle Reservation
