Summary
Regulations proposed in March 2026 by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service would provide guidance on enrollment for Trump Accounts. This Testimony presents a statement given on those proposals by Co-Director Jin Huang in a hearing before officials of the Treasury and IRS on July 16, 2026. In the statement, Huang discusses automatic enrollment and automatic deposits into Trump Accounts, state authority concerning enrollment provisions, and the exclusion of Trump Account assets from means tests in eligibility determinations for public benefits.
