Description
Principally from the Collections of the American Antiquarian Society and the Lilly Library, Indiana University. Miniature books, defined as three and one-quarter inches or less in binding height and width, reflect the history of the book in the United States of America. The present volume presents bibliographic information on 1,625 miniature books published in the United States from 1690 to 1900 inclusive. This bibliography provides the basis for discussing the more than 300 miniature book publishers. It also supports an overview of the development of the American book as reflected in its smallest examples.
