Material and its Properties
The clay used for the bricks was mined from the local Ganges Delta area, and the construction of the brick veneer was awarded to local contractors. The Canadian Foreign Ministry and the architects chose the bricks as a symbol of goodwill and recognition of the host nation’s material history and identity.
