Environmental Response
It is a local material, the ecological balance of a construction material is influenced by the length of the transport route. So it is more energy-efficient to operate quarries locally. Tumbled travertine has an older, antique look and provides ample traction for outdoor surfaces. It is relatively soft but durable. The pocked surface represents added maintenance issues.
