Material and its Properties
The project, entitled ‘salvaged ring’, takes its name from the large quantity of scrap wood used in the building’s construction. The timber, which was sourced in a range of shapes and sizes, have been adapted to suit new functions. smaller pieces are utilized as louvers, while the main structure is formed from the larger sections – connected by traditional mortise and tenon techniques.
