Environmental Response
The design was inspired by local barns and farm buildings, and landscape architect Lawrence Halprin assisted to ensure that the building took into account the local ecology. The form of the building exemplifies Moore's "shed style" with single-pitched roofs, board siding, and plain detailing. The simple and understated buildings inspire occupants to consider how they can "live lightly on the land."
