Problem Statement
Decreasing chemical plant emissions allow systems to become safer, less polluting, and more profitable. Pipe leaks in chemical plants, or fugitive emissions, are a significant source of lost product and safety hazard for workers. Working with Amaren's Maryland Heights natural gas power plant, the team developed a robot that can traverse pipe systems with a final goal of detecting chemical leaks.
