Abstract
The Article focuses on the dangers faced by the cultural heritage sites and the involvement of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in preserving the cultural and natural wonders. It further discusses the World Heritage program and the effects of this program. It also discusses several case studies including Elbe Valley, Machu Picchu and Galapagos Islands and the steps to mitigate the problems faced by this program.
