Laboratory Investigations of Short Range Gravity
Abstract
This thesis is focused on the design and construction of a high sensitivity torsion balance which will be used to probe the gravitational force on short scales. The design concepts of an ideal instrument are laid out initially and are followed by description of the steps we have taken to construct such an instrument. Next we show the results of tests performed on the fully integrated instrument. Finally we discuss the steps necessary to improve the instrument.
