Policies for Undergraduate Research Symposium Posters

Who Can Submit

Only students who have participated in the Undergraduate Research Symposium may submit materials for this collection.

Rights and Permissions

Before submitting a poster or abstract to the repository, please be sure that all necessary permissions have been cleared. Your research might include pictures, graphs, art examples, or other items which have been published elsewhere. To make your work available on Open Scholarship, you must ensure that you are including materials consistent with the rights of the owners of previous work.

If your work contains data that was collected, processed, or arranged by third parties (whether from within your lab, school, department, or elsewhere), it is your responsibility to discuss permissions for and any restrictions on distributing research with your PI, mentor, or other advisors. Data made publicly available should not contain information that could risk the confidentiality of subjects from whom it was obtained.

Copyright and any other intellectual property rights in or to the materials shall not be transferred by depositing your paper on Open Scholarship. You retain all rights, title, copyright and other interest in the materials, and grant Washington University the nonexclusive right to display, distribute, transmit, publish and copy the materials for the purpose of including them in Open Scholarship.

It is necessary that you agree to the terms of publishing in the repository listed in the author agreement.

If you have questions about the requirements of copyright law, the inclusion of materials to which you do not hold exclusive rights, or any other consideration involving authorization or approval, please contact digital@wumail.wustl.edu.

Removal

A poster may be updated or removed from public view by sending a request to the system administrator at digital@wustl.edu. However, a citation to the original version of the poster will always remain on the site.

Author Review

Authors do not have an opportunity to approve posters they have submitted prior to them becoming publicly available on the site; therefore, please be sure that the poster is ready for public distribution.
