The Washington University Law Review welcomes submissions of articles on a wide range of legal topics. We will begin review for the spring submission cycle on February of 2015. We accept submissions on a rolling basis until our volume is full.
Please include a curriculum vitae with your submission. All submissions should conform to Bluebook format. Although we have no word count requirements or restrictions, the majority of articles we publish fall between 15,000 and 35,000 words. We do not accept submissions from current law students.
The Law Review accepts electronic submissions only. We strongly prefer to receive submissions via ExpressO. We also accept submissions directly to our email account (firstname.lastname@example.org). Submissions and all attachments should be in MS Word format.
The Law Review no longer accepts submissions by mail. Typewritten submissions may not be reviewed and will not be returned.
Although it is not always possible, the Law Review attempts to honor requests for expedited review. We strongly prefer to receive expedite requests via ExpressO, although authors may alternatively submit expedite requests directly to our email account (email@example.com). Please do not send the same expedite request both via ExpressO and directly to our email account.
Please provide the following information with any request for expedited review:
- Your name and contact information.
- The title of your submission.
- All publications from which you have received publication offers.
- The date on which your offer or offers expire.
Commentaries is a special section of the Washington University Law Review featuring original analysis and debate by members of the legal academy, bench, and bar.
Commentaries publishes original, op-ed length essays and responses to articles appearing in the Washington University Law Review. The Law Review is one of only a few legal journals that publishes each essay both online and in print. We prefer submissions to be approximately 3,000-5,000 words in length, minimally footnoted, and written for a general audience. Submissions for Commentaries should be e-mailed to WUCommentaries@wulaw.wustl.edu.
